Directions

From Durban

Take the N3 to Johannesburg. Take the Bergville Colenso Northern Drakensberg R74 off ramp after the Escourt Ultra City.

Follow the sign to Winterton 22km. Bypass Winterton to Bergville 22km. Bypass Bergville and carry on straight for another 43km. On top of Oliviershoek Pass you turn right to Retieklip / Retief Pass for 2km. Follow the dirt road and turn right at Retief Pass and follow the road for 12km until you see the Dumbe sign on your right. From there you follow the farm road for 600m to the chalet.

From Johannesburg

Take the N3 to Durban / Harrismith. At Harrismith on N3, Passing the Bergview Complex on your left, Then take the R74 Bethlehem/Phuthaditjhaba off ramp. Turn right at the Stop. Drive towards the Blacksteer Restaurant on your left. Continue for approx 4.5km after Harrismith on the N5 towards Bethlehem. Turn left onto the Durban Alternative Route/ Bergville R74 (R712 ). Travel for

8.5km and turn left onto the Bergville R74. 20km further past the Sterkfontein Dam, on the crest of the Oliviershoek Pass, turn left at Retieklip/Retief Pass for 2km. Follow the dirt road and turn right at Retief Pass and follow the road for 12km until you see the Dumbe sign on your right. From there you follow the farm road for 600m to the chalet.

 

From Bloemfontein

Take the N1 from Bloemfontein to Winburg. At Winburg, take the Senekal /Bethlehem/Harrismith turn. Just before Harrismith take the R712 (Alternative route to Durban/ Bergville). Travel for 8.5km and trun left onto the Bergville R74. 20km further past the Sterkfontein Dam, on the crest of the Oliviershoek Pass. turn left at Retieklip/Retief Pass for 2km. follow the dirt road and turn right at Retief Pass and follow the road for 12km until you see the Dumbe sign on your right. From there you follow the farm road for 600m to the chalet.
